New Report Reviews Hurrican Basics

With the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicting an active hurricane season in 2006, the Marshall Institute today released a new report examining the forces and conditions which generate hurricanes and make them more intense.

The report offers a readable and accessible introduction to the science and is intended for the public, the news media, and policy makers. Authored by Florida State University Professor Dr. Robert Hart, the report provides this basic information to better inform discussions of hurricane causes and effects.
