President Bush Calls for Actions to Establish Greenhouse Gas Emission Goals

This morning President Bush laid out a new initiative to engage the fifteen nations recognized as largest emitters of greenhouse gases, including the U.S., India, China and the largest European countries, to begin a series of meetings to establish worldwide emission targets. The President restated his opposition to “one-size-fits-all” mandatory actions; under his proposal, each nation would be free to decide how best to achieve its stated goals.
