Jesse H. Ausubel is Director of the Program for the Human Environment and Senior Research Associate at The Rockefeller University in New York City. Mr. Ausubel’s interests include environmental science and technology, industrial evolution, and the nature of the scientific enterprise. During 1989-1993 Mr. Ausubel served both at the Rockefeller and as Director of Studies for the Carnegie Commission on Science, Technology and Government. From 1977-1988 Mr. Ausubel was a Fellow with the National Academy of Sciences in Washington D.C.

Mr. Ausubel has authored and edited over 120 books, reports and articles. He coauthored the 1989 paper “Dematerialization” that opened the study of this subject and
and in 1991 published the first paper on the concept of “decarbonization” of the energy system.
