On June 23, 2009, the Independent Working Group (IWG) – of which the Marshall Institute is a co-sponsor – hosted a one-day roundtable discussion to explore the broad spectrum of strategic challenges and threats now confronting the United States, and the urgent need to develop a comprehensive counterproliferation strategy that includes missile defense in response.

The event will introduce the IWG’s 2009 Report (available here) and to consider broader issues of homeland security, national security, and counterproliferation strategy. Jeff Kueter, the President of the Marshall Institute, addressed the issue of space security.  The conference agenda, setting forth the major topics to be addressed, as well as other participating speakers, is available below.
